Buffett Bets on Airlines
from Seeking Alpha
Warren Buffett has changed his mind on the airline industry after famously shunning it for years, reports Seeking Alpha. As of September 30, Berkshire Hathaway showed stakes in American Airlines, United Continental and Delta Air Lines. These are three of the top four holdings in the U.S. Global Jets ETF (JETS), which provides investors access to the global airline industry, including airline operators and manufacturers from all over the world.
According to the article, the last time Buffett held airline stock was back in the late 1980s. Although eventually profiting, he was first forced to ride major losses which soured him on the industry.
