Will United’s Two-Lane Process Streamline Boarding?

from CBS News September 27, 2018

In an attempt to alleviate congestion at the gate, United Airlines (UAL) has rolled out a nation-wide upgrade to its boarding process this month. This system has been in effect at the Los Angeles International Airport since February.

The previous five-lane setup has been replaced with is simplified color-coded, two-lane gate layout. Some customers find the new system complicated, while others are grateful for United’s efforts to improve their experience. While minor revisions are to be expected when any new procedure is implemented, only time will tell whether or not this new boarding process sticks.

United is the top holding in the U.S. Global Jets ETF (JETS), making up 13.44 percent of its total portfolio, as of the most recent quarter end.
